Day 6 Barcelona

I've fallen behind on our days here in Barcelona. I've failed you, my 3 avid readers! Day 6 was our first day back in Barcelona after a great trip to Valencia.

Day 6

gelato makes everyone happy

First, we visited the Sagrada Familia, another one of Gaudi's works. Construction began on the cathedral in 1882 and is still a work in progress. When Gaudi died, he was laid to rest in a tomb here. It is pretty amazing!

We then walked to the St Pau hospital. It stretches 9 city blocks.

Later that day, we got a visitor from Paris...Nikki came for the weekend! Michael took us to Montjuïc, a fortress built in the 17th century, first settled in the 3rd century.

After seeing Montjuïc and taking in the views of Barcelona, we walked to the Olympic stadium, site of the 1992 Olympic Games.

We proceeded to walk down the mountain to the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Barcelona (MACBA) where we sat on the steps and watched the fountain show.

It doesn't look like gelato makes dad happy. It looks like gelato makes dad confused.

Gorgeous pictures, so glad you're updating on your trip! Love you lots!
